Brandon Chang of Hypebeast had in his hand what is believed to be the most expensive BlackBerry device shown.
It is a Curve 8900, heavily-oriented toward multimedia with dedicated hard keys for control of music playback, a 2 megapixel camera, installed apps for social networking, and a GPS receiver. The Curve has the new optical track pad instead of a trackball, and all the standard features of the Curve product line. What makes it worth one thousand times more than average retail in stores?
How about the 4150 diamonds weighing in at 30.51 carats and the 18K gold wrap around case? This customized device redefines bling. It sparkles and shines, and is an amazing piece of accessorizing.
There has been a flurry of comments about the device, mostly pointing out is gaudiness and excess. There are some that admire the artistic influence and the impressive amount of handwork that went into creating this one of a kind device. It is impressive for its use of two of the most expensive materials in the world that are also the most coveted.
Now the BlackBerry itself has stepped into the rarefied air of diamonds and gold. As Brandon Chang states in his blog, “you better have your hands in your pocket gripping on this phone anywhere you go bro!” Good advice.
