The Nexus One is rumoured to be the much fabled and top secret “Google Phone” so secret in fact that Google has previously denied all existence of the handset, (so, it wasn’t us that told you this) The “Google Phone” has been talked about so much in recent months, that it was hard to believe that, despite Google’s denial, that it did not exist.

The leak comes in the form of a “tweet” on the overrated much loved Twitter (the first good thing to come from Twitter perhaps?) and more importantly, apparently from Google employee’s. The leak even included pictures of the so called “Nexus One” seen above, and it has to be said, if this is the real deal then it really is a good looking beast. Why a beast you say? Well, thats because of the 1GHz SnapDragon processor (the same as that found in the HTC HD2) powering it. Fortunately, depending on your view of the HTC HD2, the Nexus One loses the 4.3 Inch screen in favour of a more compact 3.7 Inch screen. Oh, and we forgot to mention that it’s an OLED screen, which, for the uninitiated, means better screen resolution and more importantly improved efficiency.

In addition the Nexus One aka Google Phone is said to incorporate a 5.0 megapixel camera and is going to run on Android 2.1 (which could be Flan, for those that prefer Google’s edible take on OS naming) which was rumoured as a minor update to Android 2.0 (Eclair) that boasted a unified email inbox, SMS and MMS search, improved camera controls, improved keyboard layout and double tap page zooming to name but some of the more important changes.

With no word on whether this is anything more than unsubstantiated rumour, we have no details on availability or price, but keep an eye on the blog because as soon as we know; you’ll know.
