Since 2012, a new trend has begun to sweep the digital world, which is bearing witness to tablets shrinking at the same time that smartphones are getting bigger. The phenomenon has led techies to coin a new phrase in its honor – Phablet, a portmanteau of the words phone and tablet. It’s informally used to describe a specific class of smartphones with screens in between 5 and 7 inches in size, which are primarily designed to combine the functionality of a smartphone with that of tablet.
