SEOUL, South Korea – Samsung Mobile has introduced its latest clamshell mobile phone, the rugged Extreme SPH-W9705, for network operator KT exclusively.

The device is characterized by its black colour with red lines, and an inside with rubber keys. It is made out of reinforced plastic, making it resistant to dust, waterproof, and able to work in both low and high temperatures. For those who are sceptical, the W9705 is IP54-certified.

Samsung recommends to handset to those fond of mountain-climbing and other outdoor sports. For this purpose, the W9705 is equipped with a digital compass, altimeter, and an SOS function.

It is available at KT in South Korea for 400 000 Won (US$353).
