Palm reports net loss in Q3 FY 2010 earnings, performance “deeply disappointing”

Palm reported its third quarter fiscal year 2010 earnings yesterday. Despite increased revenues, the company saw a 29 percent decrease in smartphone sales to customers, and reported a net loss.

T-Mobile USA considering joint venture with Clearwire for additional spectrum

During an investor meeting, T-Mobile’s chief executive, Robert Dotson, said that the company has been in joint venture discussions with cable companies, namely Clearwire, in an effort to gain more spectrum.

Google denied “Nexus One” mobile trademark

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has denied Google the Nexus One trademark name, citing “a likelihood of confusion.” Another company, Integra Telecom, owns the Nexus brand.

Google updates Maps for Android to version 4.1

Google updated its Maps application to version 4.1 for Android 1.6 and newer, as well as added live wallpaper support for Android 2.1 devices. The software includes a host of upgrades including swipe support, and a Latitude widget.
